As a local boy, the shattering silence of Ramona drove him to play music from a very early age. He started playing in fourth grade and continued his studies without break through his high school years when he found purpose and identity through playing in local bands.

Around the same time, he started working at the local music shop and dabbling in the recording arts.  Through the 16 years owning and running that shop, he started a small recording studio and has been able to record and play with some of San Diego’s finest.

He plays 80+ shows a year and recently started playing festivals from coast to coast with his wife Cathryn Curry in their band , The Beard and the Bird. 

In 2022, he was inspired to start the Ramona Music Alliance and immediately called up the talented local musician Ashley Norton to co chair it and since then,  scene has been growing at an exponential pace!
